Bookcase in stained beech from the end of the XNUMXth century, work attributed to Gabriel VIARDOT. Asymmetrical in shape, it is composed on the left of a library opening with two leaves and two small doors at the bottom carved with a dragon and roses, two shelves are inserted between to put books. The left side is finely drawn with plants reminiscent of the Japanese style. On the right, the section forming a showcase for works of art is surmounted by a small shelf.
We notice all the characteristics of the influence of the Asian arts of this period, such as the Sinic decorations, openwork gallery or pagoda.
