Description
A lacquered wooden daybed dating from around 1800. The posts feature detached columns and various carvings such as fluted moldings, small rosettes, and a waterleaf frieze. The upper section has small ball-shaped ornaments reminiscent of the work of G. Jacob. The lacquer is Trianon green. The upholstery and fabric need replacing, and the mattress is missing. It was assembled with lag screws and pegs, as was common in the 18th century.
I think it's a fairly rare item on the market.
