Description
Important wooden and gilded stucco mirror from the Napoleon III period. The pediment is decorated with two winged sphinxes with an openwork and sculpted cartouche in the centre. At the top two flower garlands ending in acanthus scrolls. The bevelled oval crystal is mercury framed by a row of pearls. Stylized ornamentation on the lower part.
Exceptional gold leaf mirror in perfect condition, from the old Sarthe family.
