Terracotta sculpture by Henri BARGAS "lioness on the lookout" 1930s

Terracotta with green patina representing a lioness on the lookout.
Signed on the base H.BARGAS, 1930s period.

Sculptor. (Born in Paris – Ec.Fr). Active in the 20s / '30s. A student of Vermare, collaborated with E-Jaques Ruhlmann, with E-Marcel Sandoz at the "Jardin des Plantes", for the study of animals, and other Parisian artists in 1925. In the 30s, he exhibited at the Salon French Artists in Paris. His sculptures are essentially classical Greek art inspired by the works of EABourdelle: Heracles archer, Ulysses, female nudes…… 

Note small wear to the patina.
